NRS 388.5257: Pupils not required to take advantage of special provisions for education.

A pupil must not be required to take advantage of the special provisions for the education of gifted and talented pupils if the parent or guardian of the pupil files a statement with the board of trustees of the school district showing that the pupil is receiving adequate educational advantages.
