N.Y. Canal Law § 111: Ineligibility to appointment on the canals

§ 111. Ineligibility to appointment on the canals. No person owning

any hydraulic works dependent upon the canals for their supply of water,

or employed in or connected with any such works, or engaged in

transporting property upon the canals or owning or otherwise interested

in boats navigating the canals, shall be employed upon the canals.
