N.Y. Const. art. I, § 5: Bail; fines; punishments; detention of witnesses

§ 5. Excessive bail shall not be required nor excessive fines imposed,

nor shall cruel and unusual punishments be inflicted, nor shall

witnesses be unreasonably detained.
