N.Y. General Business Law § 391-jj: Sale of electric space heaters

§ 391-jj. Sale of electric space heaters. No person, firm,

partnership, association or corporation regularly engaged in the

business of assembling, manufacturing, distributing or the retail sale

of electric space heaters shall assemble, manufacture, distribute, sell

or offer to sell any electric space heater in the normal course of

business in this state unless such electric space heater:

1. includes a thermostat;

2. includes an automatic shut-off; and

3. has been certified by a testing and certification body recognized

and approved by the United States department of labor, occupational

safety and health administration.
