N.Y. General Business Law § 399-y: Child safety devices for hot water dispensers

* § 399-y. Child safety devices for hot water dispensers. Upon the

retail sale, lease, or rental of any water dispenser, water cooler, or

other non-plumbed device or system which dispenses hot water instantly,

written notice shall be provided to the customer informing such customer

of the availability, at no extra charge to the customer, of a child

resistant safety device or similar protective feature for the hot water

dispenser which is designed to prevent accidental injury to children.

Upon customer request, such device shall be promptly provided at no

charge.
