N.Y. General Municipal Law § 773: Commencing the proceeding

§ 773. Commencing the proceeding. 1. A local government entity other

than a town may be dissolved and terminated by the procedure described

in this title.

2. Dissolution proceedings may be commenced by:

(a) a resolution of the governing body of the local government entity

to be dissolved endorsing a proposed dissolution plan; or

(b) elector initiative.
