N.Y. General Municipal Law § 793: Separability

§ 793. Separability. If any title, section, subdivision, paragraph or

other part of this article shall be adjudged invalid by any court of

competent jurisdiction, such judgment shall not invalidate the remainder

thereof, but shall be confined in its operation to the part directly

involved in the controversy wherein such judgment shall have been

rendered.
