N.Y. Judiciary Law § 252: Clerks not to receive fees except as prescribed by law

§ 252. Clerks not to receive fees except as prescribed by law. Each

clerk of a court must perform all the duties required of him, in the

course and practice of the court, without fee or reward, except as

expressly prescribed by law.
