N.Y. Public Authorities Law § 1147-d: Responsibilities of the authority

§ 1147-d. Responsibilities of the authority. The authority shall have

the responsibility to investigate, analyze and evaluate various options

for the collection, treatment and disposal of sewage generated within

the district, including, but not limited to the following:

1. The purchase, in the name of the authority, of any existing sewer

system or portion thereof deemed necessary by the authority in order to

carry out the purposes of the authority;

2. The operation of any sewer system or sewage treatment facility and

any related facilities necessary to carry out the functions and goals of

the authority.
