N.Y. Public Authorities Law § 551: Definitions

§ 551. Definitions. As used or referred to in this title, unless a

different meaning clearly appears from the context,

1. The term "authority" shall mean the Triborough bridge and tunnel

authority, the corporation organized pursuant to section five hundred

fifty-two of this chapter as consolidated pursuant to section five

hundred fifty-two-a of this chapter;

2. The term "city" shall mean the city of New York;

3. The term "bonds" shall mean bonds issued by the authority pursuant

to this title or by authorities consolidated with the authority;

4. The term "board" shall mean the members of the authority;

5. The term "comptroller" shall mean the comptroller of the city;

6. The term "the project" shall mean any project or one or more or all

of the projects described in subdivision nine of section five hundred

fifty-three or in section five hundred fifty-three-a of this chapter;

7. The term "parkway" shall include elevated, surface or subsurface

parkways and parking fields and other facilities connected therewith,

and any bridge, viaduct, embankment or other structure that is part

thereof or crosses the same;

8. The term "highway" shall mean any road, street, avenue or

boulevard, whether elevated, surface or subsurface, and includes any

parking fields and other facilities connected therewith and any bridge,

viaduct, embankment or other structure that is a part thereof or crosses

the same.

9. The term "metropolitan transportation authority" shall mean the

corporation created by section twelve hundred sixty-three of this

chapter.

10. The term "New York city transit authority" shall mean the

corporation created by section twelve hundred one of this chapter.
