§ 242. Separability of provisions; federal law; regulations. 1. If any

provision of this article or the application thereof to any person or

circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of this article and the

application of such provision to other persons or circumstances shall

not be affected thereby.

2. Nothing in this article shall be interpreted or applied so as to

create a conflict with federal law.

3. The chair shall have authority to adopt regulations to effectuate

any of the provisions of this article.
