1106.1 Minimum requirements.
Accessibility provisions of Chapter 11 of the New York City Building Code for new construction shall apply to additions. An addition that affects the accessibility to, or contains an area of, primary function shall also comply with the requirements of Sections 806 and 906, as applicable.
1106.2 Additions requiring accessibility throughout a building.
In accordance with Section 1101.4, where an addition, including any alteration made to the building, increases the existing floor surface area of the existing building by more than 110 percent, the entire building shall be made to comply with Chapter 11 of the New York City Building Code as if it were new construction hereafter erected.
