A Local Law to amend Local Law 23 of 1990 in relation to the Temporary Commission on Social Clubs

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

Section one. Subdivision a of section two of Local Law 23 of the laws of 1990 is amended to read as follows:

a. There is hereby established a temporary commission on social clubs consisting of ten members. The mayor shall appoint five members, one of whom shall serve as chairperson, and the speaker of the council shall appoint five members. Such commission shall have a duration of nine months from the date of the last appointment made to the commission. The members of the commission shall be appointed within thirty days of the effective date of this section. Each member shall serve without compensation for the duration of the commission.

§ 2. This local law shall take effect immediately.
