A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to repealing the licensing requirements for public masquerade or fancy dress dances or balls

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

§ 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any public masquerade or fancy dress dance or ball permit issued by the commissioner of consumer affairs prior to the effective date of this local law shall become null and void and be of no further effect as of the effective date of this local law. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, if the holder of such public masquerade or fancy dress dance or ball permit surrenders the permit within sixty days after the effective date of the local law to the department of consumer affairs, such holder may receive a refund of an amount equal to the fee for the public masquerade or fancy dress dance or ball permit.

§ 3. No action or proceeding, civil or criminal, pending at the time when this local law shall take effect shall be affected or abated by the adoption of this local law or by anything contained herein and all such actions or proceedings may be continued notwithstanding the adoption of this local law.

§ 4. This local law shall take effect immediately.
