A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the bicycle parking station program

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

§ 2. Reporting on bicycle parking station program. By January 1, 2032, the commissioner of transportation shall submit to the speaker of the council and the mayor, and post on the department of transportation’s website, a report analyzing the status of the department’s bicycle parking station program established pursuant to section 19-175.10 of the administrative code of the city of New York. Such report shall include a detailed assessment of such program, including but not limited to:

a. The number of bicycle racks and secured bicycle parking stations installed by the department, and the number of bicycles that each such bicycle parking station can accommodate;

b. The cost of installing bicycle parking stations, disaggregated by bicycle racks and secured bicycle parking, and any changes to such costs over time;

c. The known or estimated usage of bicycle parking stations across the city, disaggregated, to the extent feasible, by borough, community board, and council district; and

d. Any recommendations for improvements or changes to such bicycle parking station program.

§ 3. This local law takes effect immediately.
