R.I. Gen. Laws § 22-5-5: Roll call vote.

The ayes and noes of the grand committee shall be taken upon any question properly before the committee, at the request of one-fifth (⅕) of the members present; but this provision shall not be construed to require an aye and no vote upon the election of any candidate for office.
