R.I. Gen. Laws § 27-37-1: Notice of cancellation.

No policy of group insurance issued in this state shall be canceled by the insurer unless written notice of cancellation is mailed to the group contract holder by certified or registered mail at least thirty (30) days prior to the cancellation date in order for the cancellation to be effective.
