R.I. Gen. Laws § 5-65.4-1: Short title and purpose.

This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the “Rhode Island residential contractor licensing law” to safeguard the public health, the purpose of this chapter is to establish a licensing program and minimum standards for contractors supervising or performing structural work in residences of one to four (4) family dwelling units.
