SDCL § 1-45-1.1: Department renamed.

The Department formerly known as the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs is hereby renamed the Department of Education. The position formerly known as secretary of education and cultural affairs shall be referred to as the secretary of education and shall be appointed and serve pursuant to the provisions of the S.D. Const., Art. IV, § 9. The secretary of the Department of Education shall perform the functions of the former secretary of the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs.
