SDCL § 17-4-1: Certified mail equivalent of registered mail.

Wherever any law of this state requires the service, mailing, or transmittal of an order, notice, or other thing whatsoever, by registered mail, it shall be a sufficient compliance with such law if in lieu thereof such service, mailing, or transmittal is made and done by certified mail.
