(a) The state shall offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of any individual responsible for the shooting of a law enforcement officer in the line of duty. The reward shall be in the following amount: (1) Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) if the law enforcement officer was injured in the shooting; or (2) Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) if the law enforcement officer was killed in the shooting. (b) Payment of the reward shall be made from the general fund after receipt by the department of finance and administration of proof of arrest by the appropriate law enforcement agency.
