(a) Especially aggravated robbery is robbery as defined in § 39-13-401 : (1) Accomplished with a deadly weapon; and (2) Where the victim suffers serious bodily injury. (b) Especially aggravated robbery is a Class A felony. Acts 1989, ch. 591, § 1.
