Tenn. Code Ann. § 50-6-1002: Purpose

The purpose of this part is to provide a mechanism for the payment of self-insured workers' compensation claims to avoid excessive delay in payment and to avoid financial loss to claimants because of the insolvency of a self-insured employer, and to provide an association to assess the cost of the protection among self-insured employers doing business in this state.
