Tenn. Code Ann. § 52-5-402: Determination of substantial likelihood of serious harm

A person poses a "substantial likelihood of serious harm" for purposes of this title only if: (1) The person: (A) Has threatened or attempted suicide or to inflict serious bodily harm on the person; (B) Has threatened or attempted homicide or other violent behavior; (C) Has placed others in reasonable fear of violent behavior and serious physical harm to them; or (D) Is unable to avoid severe impairment or injury from specific risks; and (2) There is a substantial likelihood that the harm will occur unless the person is placed under involuntary treatment. Added by 2024 Tenn. Acts, ch. 688,s 2, eff. 7/1/2024.

A person poses a "substantial likelihood of serious harm" for purposes of this title only if:

(2) There is a substantial likelihood that the harm will occur unless the person is placed under involuntary treatment.
