Tex. Government Code § 2054.462: EXCEPTION FOR EMBEDDED INFORMATION RESOURCES.

This subchapter does not apply to electronic and information resources equipment that contains embedded information resources that are used as an integral part of the product, but the principal function of which is not the acquisition, storage, manipulation, management, movement, control, display, switching, interchange, transmission, or reception of information, including thermostats or temperature control devices or other heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
