Tex. Special District Local Laws Code § 1026.253: ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION BY SCHOOL DISTRICT ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR.

(a) This section applies unless the board elects to have taxes assessed and collected under Section 1026.254 or 1026.255.

(b) The tax assessor-collector of the Farwell Independent School District shall assess and collect taxes imposed by the district.
