Tex. Utilities Code § 60.081: DEFINITION.

In this subchapter, "telecommunications number portability" means the ability of a telecommunications services user who is changing from one telecommunications service provider to another provider to retain a telephone number, to the extent technically feasible, without impairing the quality, reliability, or convenience of service.
