(1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), each motor vehicle required to be registered under this chapter shall be equipped with a properly functioning odometer.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to a street-legal all-terrain vehicle that was not equipped with an odometer by the manufacturer.
