Utah Code § 76-9-1901: Definitions.

As used in this part:

(1)

(a) "Compartment" means any box, container, space, or enclosure:

(i) that is intended or designed to conceal, hide, or otherwise prevent the discovery of contraband; and

(ii) that is within a vehicle or attached to a vehicle.

(b) "Compartment" includes:

(i) false, altered, or modified fuel tanks;

(ii) original factory equipment of a vehicle that is modified, altered, or changed to accommodate or contain contraband; and

(iii) a box, container, space, or enclosure that is fabricated, made, created from, or added to the existing structure of a vehicle.

(2)

(a) "Contraband" means any property, item, or substance that is unlawful to produce or possess under state or federal law.

(b) "Contraband" includes any cash or monetary instrument that is the proceeds of an unlawful activity under Subsection 76-17-401(4).

(3) "Motor vehicle" means the same as that term is defined in Section 41-6a-102.

(4) "Semitrailer" means the same as that term is defined in Section 41-6a-102.

(5) "Trailer" means the same as that term is defined in Section 41-1a-102.

(6) "Vehicle" means a motor vehicle, a trailer, or a semitrailer.
