Va. Code § 12.1-11: Oath; failure to qualify

Any person elected or appointed to be a member of the Commission shall qualify by taking and subscribing the oath required by Article II, Section 7 of the Constitution of Virginia. If any member shall fail to so qualify within thirty days after the commencement of his term of office, such office shall become vacant.Code 1950, §§ 12-11, 12-12; 1971, Ex. Sess., c. 157.
