If any officer authorized to serve legal process receive any money or other thing of value for omitting or delaying to perform any duty pertaining to his office, he shall be guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor.Code 1950, § 18.1-281; 1960, c. 358; 1975, cc. 14, 15.
