Va. Code § 18.2-46.10: Violation of sections within article separate and distinct offenses

A violation of any section in this article shall constitute a separate and distinct offense. If the acts or activities violating any section within this article also violate another provision of law, a prosecution under any section in this article shall not prohibit or bar any prosecution or proceeding under such other provision or the imposition of any penalties provided for thereby.2002, cc. 588, 623.
