Va. Code § 19.2-261: Charging grand jury in presence of person selected as juror

The court shall not charge the grand jury in the presence of any person selected as a juror to try any person indicted by the said grand jury. A violation of this provision shall constitute reversible error in any criminal case tried by a jury composed of one or more such veniremen.Code 1950, § 8-208.20; 1973, c. 439; 1975, c. 495.
