A. There is hereby created the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), which shall serve as the agency responsible for administration and enforcement of the provisions of this Chapter.B. The Governor shall appoint a Chief Information Officer of the Commonwealth (the CIO) to oversee the operation of VITA. The CIO shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred or imposed upon him by law and perform such other duties as may be required by the Governor and the Secretary of Administration.2003, cc. 981, 1021; 2009, c. 826; 2010, cc. 136, 145; 2016, c. 296; 2020, c. 738.
