Va. Code § 27-35: Penalty for failure to discharge duty

For his failure to discharge any duty required of him by law the fire marshal shall be liable for each offense to a fine not exceeding $100, to be imposed by the governing body and to be collected as other fines are collected.Code 1919, § 3138.
