Va. Code § 36-132: Creation of Department; appointment of Director

There is hereby created in the executive department the Department of Housing and Community Development. The Department shall be headed by a Director who shall be appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the General Assembly, to serve at the pleasure of the Governor for a term coincident with his own.1977, c. 613; 1984, c. 720.
