The Commonwealth shall pay two-thirds of the salaries of the superintendents and approved medical and treatment personnel of such jails. The other one-third shall be paid pro rata by the participating political subdivisions. Such salaries shall be paid in the manner provided in § 15.2-1609.2, and such section shall be applicable mutatis mutandis to superintendents of such jails.Code 1950, § 53-206.12; 1970, c. 706; 1982, c. 636; 1983, c. 358.
