Va. Code § 9.1-215: Powers of Director; regulation and implementation

The Director:1. In consultation with the State Fire Marshal, may adopt regulations necessary to carry out and administer this chapter;2. In consultation with the State Fire Marshal, may adopt regulations for the conduct of random inspections of retailers, vending machine operators, and wholesalers to ensure compliance with this chapter; and3. Shall ensure that the implementation and substance of this chapter is in accordance with the implementation and substance of the New York fire safety standards for cigarettes.2014, cc. 370, 418.
