RCW 49.48.231: Wage recovery account.

The wage recovery account is created in the custody of the state treasurer. All receipts from civil penalties collected under this chapter and chapter 49.46 RCW, and all moneys recovered from wage complaints assigned to the department as authorized under this section must be deposited into the account. Expenditures from the account may be used only for disbursements to employees in accordance with RCW 49.48.230. Only the director of or the director's designee may authorize expenditures from the account. The account is subject to allotment procedures under chapter 43.88 RCW, but an appropriation is not required for expenditures.
