Ala. Code § 45-43-101: Appointment of Superintendent.

In Lowndes County, the county board of education is hereby authorized to appoint a superintendent of education at the expiration of the term of the present superintendent or if a vacancy occurs in the office. The superintendent shall be appointed to serve at the pleasure of the county board of education.
