Ala. Code § 45-58-81.01: Juvenile Court Services Fund; Judicial Administration Fund.

(a) In addition to all other costs and charges in circuit and district court cases in Shelby County, a court charge of eight dollars ($8) shall be charged and collected by the clerk of the court. When collected by the clerk of the court, five dollars ($5) of each charge shall be remitted monthly for deposit into the county general fund for use exclusively for services pertaining to juvenile detention, two dollars ($2) of each charge shall be remitted monthly to the Juvenile Court Services Fund, and one dollar ($1) of each charge shall be remitted monthly to the Judicial Administration Fund.

(b) In addition to all other costs and charges of court in Shelby County, a monthly supervision fee may be assessed in juvenile cases by the judges of the juvenile court. The supervision fee shall be collected by the juvenile court office and deposited in the Juvenile Court Services Fund.

(c)(1) The Juvenile Court Services Fund is created for the deposit of the court cost monies and fees specified in this section. The fund shall be maintained in an interest bearing account in a bank of known responsibility under the supervision of the Juvenile Court Judge of Shelby County.

(2) Any funds appropriated from the Juvenile Court Services Fund shall be expended solely for juvenile programs, for subsistence for the juvenile court services staff in the county, to aid the functions of the juvenile court, and for the benefit of the children of Shelby County. Any funds expended shall be authorized by the Juvenile Court Judge of Shelby County.

(d)(1) The Judicial Administration Fund is created for the deposit of the court costs monies specified in this section. The fund shall be maintained in an interest bearing account in a bank of known responsibility by the presiding circuit court judge.

(2) Any funds appropriated from the Judicial Administration Fund shall be expended for increasing the efficiency of judicial administration in Shelby County. Any funds expended shall be authorized by the presiding Circuit Court Judge of Shelby County.
