Ala. Code § 45-59-120: Cost–of–Living Pay Increases Authorized for Certain Retired Employees and Beneficiaries.

In St. Clair County, any health care authority or similar public corporation organized in the county, which participated in the Employees’ Retirement System of Alabama and which has withdrawn from participation prior to October 1, 2002, may elect to fund and pay to any retirees or their beneficiaries any cost-of-living pay increase granted to retirees and their beneficiaries of the Employees’ Retirement System including, but not limited to, any cost-of-living pay increase granted to retirees and beneficiaries of the Employees’ Retirement System at any time after the date of withdrawal of the health care authority or other public corporation from the Employees’ Retirement System.
