D.C. Code § 38-1207.01: Definitions.

For the purposes of this subchapter, the term:

(1)

“Eligible caretaker relative” means an individual as defined in § 4-205.15(2)(B), who has primary responsibility for the care of a dependent child.

(2)

“Eligible legal guardian” means any individual:

(A)

Appointed as a testamentary or appointive guardian pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 21; and

(B)

Necessary for the maintenance of a household as provided in § 4-205.15(2)(D).

(3)

“Eligible parent” means a child’s natural or adoptive parent in a family eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Program on Work, Employment, and Responsibility pursuant to Chapter 2 of Title 4.

(4)

“Tuition grant” means a sum equal to the basic instructional charge for a full- or part-time program at the University and includes all required fees.

(5)

“State” means any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, or any territory or possession of the United States.
