D.C. Code § 4-211.01: Home repairs — Run-down premises.

The Mayor may authorize an expenditure for repairs to a home which a recipient of TANF, POWER, or GAC owns or is buying, when there has been no assignment or transfer to the District of such property, if:

(1)

A determination has been made that:

(A)

The home is so defective that continued occupancy is not warranted;

(B)

Unless repairs are made the recipient would have to move to rental quarters; and

(C)

The rental cost of quarters for the recipient and his family over a period of 2 years would exceed the cost of repairs needed to make the home habitable together with other costs attributable to continued occupancy of the home; and

(2)

There has been no expenditure for repairs prior to the determination described in paragraph (1) of this section.
