D.C. Code § 50-301.29i: Carrier-for-hire operators.

(a)

To become a carrier-for-hire operator, an individual shall submit an application to register with a carrier-for-hire company.

(b)

The Director is authorized, pursuant to subchapter I of Chapter 5 of Title 2, to issue rules regarding background check requirements for carrier-for-hire operators and to require a carrier-for-hire company to reject an application submitted under subsection (a) of this section or to permanently disqualify from carrier-for-hire operator status an applicant who violates background check requirements established by the Director.
