1 GCA § 1000: Holidays.

(a) The holidays of Guam are:

(1) New Year’s Day;

(2) Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the third Monday in January;

(3) Guam History and CHamoru Heritage Day, the first Monday in March;

(4) Memorial Day, the last Monday in May;

(5) Independence Day, July 4th;

(6) Liberation Day, July 21st;

(7) Labor Day, the first Monday in September;

(8) All Souls’ Day, November 2;

(9) Veterans’ Day, November 11;

(10) Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday in November;

(11) Our Lady of Camarin Day, December 8; and

(12) Christmas, December 25th.

(b) Whenever a holiday listed in Subsection (a) of this Section falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the government of Guam shall follow the Federal government’s practice for that holiday.

(c) In addition to the holidays specified in Subsection (a) of this Section, I Maga’hågan/Maga’låhen Guåhan may declare by Executive Order additional non-permanent holidays for special purposes. No holiday declared by Executive Order shall be continued beyond the year in which the Executive Order is issued.
