10 GCA § 21302: Legislative Statement.

(a) I Liheslaturan Guåhan recognizes the urgency of identifying strategies that will help increase the supply of quality affordable housing for our senior citizens and to reduce barriers to providing health care and social services to our senior citizens in affordable housing. As the framework of families evolve, the quality of life on island improves and life expectancy rises; and, I Liheslaturan Guåhan finds that the demand for long-term services, to include housing, continues to grow.

(b) It is, therefore, the position of I Liheslaturan Guåhan to create a task force comprised of specific stakeholders and representatives of government agencies to coordinate efforts to identify strategies and develop a plan for providing quality senior citizen housing and assisted living facilities to meet the projected needs of senior citizens on Guam.
