110 ILCS 153/5-35: Discrimination.

(a) A person who is a member of, applies to be a member of, performs, has performed, applies to perform, or has an obligation to perform military service shall not be discriminated against by an institution of higher education, including its faculty and staff on the basis of that membership, application for membership, performance of service, obligation, or actual or perceived affiliation with military service.

(b) A person who is a spouse or dependent of a person described in subsection (a) shall not be discriminated against by an institution, faculty, or staff based on actual or perceived affiliation or association with such person described in subsection (a).

(c) Military service does not need to be the sole reason for discriminatory behavior to be discriminatory but must be, in part, a basis.
