225 ILCS 10/4.4a: Background investigations; Department of Early Childhood.

For the purposes of background investigations authorized in this Act, "license applicant" means the operator or person with direct responsibility for daily operation of the early care and education center, early care and education home, or group early care and education home to be licensed. In the case of providers to be operated in a family home, as related to early care and education homes and group early care and education homes, the Department of Early Childhood may, by rule, require that other adult residents of that home also authorize such investigations.
