30 ILCS 740/5-10: Downstate Reduced Fare Grant Program.

(a) Subject to appropriation, the Department may establish and administer the Downstate Reduced Fare Grant Program ("DRF Program"). Under the DRF Program, the Department may award grants to eligible applicants for the purpose of supporting reduced fare programs for students enrolled in public school and other students enrolled in public career centers or public technical education centers administered by the State Board of Education.

(b) The Department shall award grants on a competitive basis.

(c) All expenditures related to the DRF Program shall comply with Section 11 of Article IX of the Illinois Constitution.

(d) The Department may adopt rules necessary to implement and administer this Section.
